Really enjoyed the cabin!

We stayed in one of the cabins, the one with 3 bedrooms and 4 beds, I think #26. The cabin had two rooms with queen beds and a room with twin bunkbeds. There was a full kitchen (full fridge, microwave, stove, double sink, and coffee maker) as well as some utensils, plates, cups, and basic cooking gear like potholders, a frying pan, spaghetti pot, colander, sauce pan and lid, baking sheet, ice cube trays, etc. The tv was on the kitchen table, which had 3 chairs around it, and there was a couch opposite the table. There was also a small, screened-in porch with a small table and two chairs on it. The bathroom was very small but had a shower, toilet, and sink. The two bedrooms with queen beds had a closet and a 3-drawer bureau. The bunkbed room had drawers built into the lower bunk. The bathroom came with plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and extra toilet paper. Our cabin was in the very back of the parking lot, but we could easily walk to the ocean right across the street and lug all our gear there. The beach was described by others as "rocky" but the area right across from the hotel only has rocks near the road serving as a retaining wall to prevent erosion. They're intentional. Walk toward the water and the beach is sandy, except maybe at very high tide. There were often lots of surfers in the water, which was entertaining. The owner/manager was helpful in answering any questions, getting the wifi and tv working, and showing us where the ice was (it's a cooler outside the office). There were definitely a lot of other families staying there and it felt like a nice summer vacation spot that was significantly less costly than other places on this beach. While the cabins aren't as modern as the rooms in the renovated buildings, they were more to my liking because my teenagers want to have their space and I'm told I snore when we share a one-room hotel room. Having those extra bedrooms made it quieter for all of us at night!

Good location

Stayed here many times in the main building. Carpets are so stained and old. I'm told this winter they will go to a vinyl floor. Staff is very nice. Just need a overall redo. Bathrooms at least need a steam clean to get rid of mildew on tile. Hoping this property gets done over the winter.

No Room at the Inn, even after confirming

I had booked directly on line and had a confirmation for 3 days. When I arrived, I was told that my room was not able to be rented out but that they had changed my reservation to their sister hotel about "a minute" down the street. And their pool was closed for maintance. They had no rooms for me. I specifically booked there because the beach was across the street.
I drove down to the York Beach Club and checked in. It was all redone but when I went to take a walk to the beach, there was no beach only rocks, all the way to the water. I kept walking to see how long it would take to get to the beach. It turned out I was just about back to the Sea Latch. So I returned to the Sea Latch and let them know this was not acceptable. I would have to drive to the beach and pay for parking. After a bit of back and forth, I wound up cancelling totally and driving the 2 hours home that day. I will never stay there or their other hotel (which lacked sufficient parking) ever again.

Okay but needs some work

I wanted to like it but it needs some work. The place is right across from the water and you can tell they are working on the place.
First we were asked to wait a bit while they cleaned out room. No issue, we took off for a few hours and explored the area. But when we got back we found a room that had clearly not been cleaned. There was a used soap on the sink. Sorry water shots on the sink. The bed looked like it hadn't been made and there were spots on the bedspread.
The ice machine was down, but they did have a cooler of ice. However when it ran out there was no more ice.
There was no place to put clothes unless you could hang them all in a closet.
Then did have a Roku TV so that was nice for at night.
The shower was AMAZING! Huge shower, great water pressure. Plenty of room for toiletries in the shower. The sink splashed you everytime you used it.
The curtains were odd. The two on the window were completely different lengths, by like 6-8 inches. One side dragged on the floor. The curtains on the slider were not wide enough, so not only could light get in but anyone walking past could look it.
The parking also needs some work. They repainted the lines and the spot in front of our room was so small a motorcycle wouldn't even fit never mind a car or SUV.
Over all I am being a little picky, though there was a lot of other little things, the place is still nice. It was still worth the price. They are working on updating the rooms. And your are right across the street from the ocean. There is a cross walk in front.

Extremely Disappointing

Accompanied a friend who had traveled here for years. Unfortunately she hadn’t been here since 2021 when the motel was sold to a corporate entity. It’s
now a disaster. Grounds and building have not been kept up. The pool
was bright green all 3 days and eventually closed. While some rooms were updated, they lacked anything you might need to be comfortable—no chair, closet, dresser. Hot water in the shower took over 10 minutes to come on. Bed was broken and very unsteady. At one point I was coming back to my room and went to the wrong room by mistake—my key opened the room two doors down from mine. The prices are high in comparison to every other nicer looking motel in the vicinity. Skip this one and enjoy your stay at a cleaner cheaper place nearby.
