Beautiful and accessible!

We just stayed at the inn for family weekend at Pitt. We stayed in the first floor suite, which was spacious enough to maneuver our daughter’s wheelchair and the bathroom was accessible. The extra cot set up for her was comfortable and we could maneuver around it. Special accommodation was made for us to have the end parking space for getting her in and out of the car with her wheelchair. Big chain hotels might be a little easier to get in and out of, but we’ve never felt so warmly welcomed and swiftly accommodated as our visit to the Inn.
Breakfasts were substantial and delicious! We regret not being able to take advantage of other amenities this time, but can’t wait to come back when our weekend agenda isn’t so busy with campus activities.
The harvest decorations were gorgeous. Would love to see it in holiday splendor!!

Read This Review First

I read the reviews online and after staying here I realized there are parts of the Inn that haven’t been mentioned.
- The service at the bed and breakfast was below average in many ways. First, our initisl encounter was lackluster and as if we were interrupting her.i did notice a plate of food at the check-in desk. Second, no offer to help with luggage or restaurant recommendations. NOTE: The stairs are at a steep incline, there is no elevator nor assistance. I cannot imagine how difficult it is for most people to get their luggage up the stairs. My husband carried our luggage and he’s a strong guy. Third, they mention afternoon snacks. It was not snacks. It was a single cookie for each of us each day that was handed to us once we asked about the snacks.
- We stayed in the Northern Spy suite. The sofa is not as pictured and is a faded, very worn, leather sofa that looked like it belonged in a thrift store.
- The towels were supposed to be white but instead were worn, stained, and grey.
- The breakfast options were the same both days. The main course was average portion size but the fruit was very sparse. .it was difficult to tell if they ran out of fruit and had to distribute what they had or were trying to save money.
- The sheets were stained.
- The bathroom definitely looked worn. Several tiles were broken in the bathroom as well as on the floor.
- There’s a seating area/deck outside to relax.
Overall, the rooms, towels and sheets need to be updated. The personnel could benefit from hospitality training.

A beautiful inn to stay in when you visit Pittsburgh!

We stayed at the Inn on Negley for three nights starting October 11th. We were in the Braeburn Suite on the first floor. We couldn't ask for a better experience. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotless. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfasts were delicious. This inn felt like home. The location is ideal for exploring local attractions on foot. The Inn had genuine hospitality and we'll stay there again when we are traveling to Pittsburgh. Sierra and Justin warmly welcomed us when we arrived and told us about the inn. The outstanding breakfasts were a choice of a special sweet or savory dish, or eggs and omelets cooked to order by the excellent chef and were served by Carol who was so friendly and attentive to us. Aniela was also a server and so interesting to talk to. Every staff member was wonderful!

Beautiful inn in lovely part of Pittsburgh

This is a wonderfully friendly inn. Our room was beautifully furnished, with comfortable beds.
There were lovely touches of hospitality each day, such as complimentary wine and cheese from 4pm. Breakfasts were delicious also.
