The only thing that wasn't working right was the fireplace, but they offered to come fix it and we refused the offer.

Warm, Cozy, and Convenient in Manchester, VT
Yes, the main office was already closed, but our keys and a map to our room had been left in an envelope with our name on it in a bucket by the front door, exactly as we had been told by the staff when I called earlier that week about out late arrival.
The hotel is actually constructed more in a motel style, with rooms spread out across the vast property, and parking immediately in front of one's door.
It was so wonderful to check into our upgraded suite room (#75), just like a little house, with a pretty living room and fireplace, a dining area and kitchenette, a monstrous modern bathroom, and a huge relaxing bed. The spacious room was clean and comfortable, and even better in cold Vermont--warm and cozy!
DH got up early to head to the Stratton ski slopes, but first we enjoyed an included breakfast with many hot and cold choices in the main office area. Very filling and good!
For me, it was great that the hotel was easily walkable to town, so I could spend a few days shopping and exploring. There were also two fantastic restaurants nearby, and we dined in both of them.
DH did pop down to the pool and said the water was too cold for him to use, and I am not sure how regularly the hot tub is cleaned, so we did not try it.
I would guess this property would be quite lovely in warm weather when everything is green and full of flowers, but we did enjoy our Winter weekend getaway. The Palmer House Resort is a convenient and comfortable choice for Manchester, and the suite choice is highly recommended.
