Great lobby hiding poor rooms

When I walked into the lobby I was hoping for a good experience. The lobby was clean, bright and well decorated. Rob the clerk was very friendly and welcoming . The breakfast area off the lobby was the same. However when we got to our room the hope turned to disappointment. First there are no curtains on the window only a pull down shade. The room lacked any kind of decoration (art on walls). And it was incredibly dark. There were only 3 small watt lights that even when all 3 were on it was hard to see in my suitcase. While the room was clean it certainly needed maintenance. It seems like the owners were deliberately cutting corners in the rooms to save money.

The hotel is in need of major updates. We asked for an accessible room and it ended up being on the third floor. There was a hole in the flooring that was covered by carpet and every time you walked by, you would step into the hole. Upon entry to the hotel, it was very stuffy and you could smell garlic and food of all sorts in the air. All in all, it was quiet but not worth the expense. I’ve always used La Quinta and I will not be back to this location.

Got my room thru hotels.com and la Quinta charged aside from the hotels app so I payed double
