Perfect on a budget

Super quick check in with friendly hotel staff. Room plenty large enough for a family of four. Extra pillows available in the room rather than having to ask for them. Upon returning home, we realised my daughter had left her cuddly toy behind. The hotel staff were exceptional, quickly locating the toy and posting it via tracked next day delivery to avoid us having to make a 6hr round trip to retrieve it.

It’s not worth the money

The location was great because it’s an easy walk to Newhall station and taking Uber was cheap. The reception staff on the first night were very friendly and helpful.
Only problem is that housekeeping did not clean the room while I was out. I found that weird because having worked in hotels in my country, as a standard housekeeping clean all occupied rooms regardless of if you leave a sign on the door or not. They wait and once you’re out for the day ( I was out by 10:30 and back in the evening) they clean and leave fresh towels and replenish the trays etc . This was not done and the explanation they gave was that it’s a budget hotel. Please don’t compromise on cleanliness! From the first night there was a strange smell in that room.
As for the coffee/teas and sugars not being replenished they said they expected guests to come down to get that if they want. They did say a sign should be left on the door for them to do that. Upon on querying in surprise that even while out they don’t check the room to clean up, they said they’d send someone up with it and that never happened so had to go down to ask for it. It seemed like that night staff just said they bring it up but actually just fobbed it off.
The bed was uncomfortable, it felt like it had a dip in the middle. I regret choosing this hotel so wouldn’t recommend it which is a shame because it’s in a good location.

Very good location
