Not Bad, but Some Disappointments
We opted for a somewhat more expensive "balcony room", but we were given a new room in a new construction section - room 503. The room was okay, but there were some obvious omissions, such as a safe and a mini fridge. We asked for some glasses, a fridge and extra pillows - they were immediately provided. The bathroom, which wasn't small, didn't have a shower cabin wall, although there was ample space. This was surprising. In any case, the room was certainly worth the price. We were shown a "balcony" room and we're happy to stay in 503.
Breakfast each morning was more than adequate. Nothing special, but a typical assortment of vegetables, fruit, boiled eggs, menemen, cheese, olives, french fries and bread. Certainly fair for the price paid, and open longer than most (7-11).
After the second day, we returned to find that housekeeping hadn't cleaned our room. We were disappointed, but management offered to move us to room 305, a balcony room, which we accepted. It was much older and really cramped, but it had an okay balcony with a sort-of lake view down the street. The bathroom had a shower cabin wall, but most things in it were really old and in need of replacement. The showerhead didn't stay on the wall bracket, and the toilet initially didn't flush (playing with the float fixed it).
All in all, we weren't thrilled, but it was definitely okay. There were no bad attitudes. Zero. Everyone was responsive to our every request. The price was good.
Please don't take this as a "we hated it" review. We didn't. We chose this hotel because we wanted to see İznik, they accepted our little poodle and the price was good. We genuinely liked the staff, and they did their best to help us. If I could give a 3.5 I would.
