The hotel to stay in when in Yapahuwa

A beautifully maintained hotel in a large coconut estate. We stayed in a lake front room which was very comfortable. The large pool and covered deck area was excellent. The majestic Yapahuwa Rock fortress is just minutes away making this the ideal place to stay if visiting it. The staff are friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the meals which were tasty.

One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka.

One of the best hotels I have ever visited. The staff was very friendly and warmly welcome us. We were amazed seeing the hotel at our first sight. The place is brilliant for ones who loves to enjoy the nature. The environment is so calm and full of green. We enjoyed very much and I must tell that the meals are excellent. Thank you again Yapahuwa Paradise for making our trip more fun and enjoyable.

Nice but over priced and oddly vacant

We booked here because we saw the Yapahuwa Rock Fortress (this only takes 30min to see the beautiful steps btw so make it a day trip or stop enroute...no overnight needed). This hotel is one of the few options around. Reservations were a breeze and reception at the hotel was great. Check in and WiFi were easy. The hotel rooms were dated but great shower and nicely set up. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was pretty good but more expensive then we saw elsewhere in Sri Lanka. The hotel was only about 20% occupied which seemed odd but it was nice that we got the pool and restaurant to ourselves. Overall we left happy but if was overpriced compared to everything else we saw in Sri Lanka.

Never again

2,3 minutes drive from Yapahuwa rock fortress and this is the only hotel available in that extent. Spacious rooms with a balcony where you can hear the music of frogs and insects, but the smell from the septic tanks are there too.
Pool was good and well maintained. Kids pool also.
I felt like the hotel is suffering from an unmanageable financial crisis. extreamly over priced with respect to what they served. And their cost cuttings are not bad but ugly. A la carte menu was very poor, nothing to eat actually, no selections, very small portions.

Thank you very much for your valuable review on us. It is nice to know that you have enjoyed the room and the pool.It is true that you had heard the music of the frog as our Hotel is very nature friendly not like a city hotel where you see only buildings. So I think you have to accept that.
We respect your Thinking right and we do not want to explain about what you feel about the financial crisis.But surely we don't have any cost cutting towards our valuable guests.Our A la carte menu is full of choices with more than one hundred different choices of food.Do you mean the sri Lankan food Item or what?

Not impressed

Bavarian style hotel with big carved wooden furniture. Caters to the old german gang. weird way to login to wifi. rooms were in a 4plex type small buildings. Room had double bed and a single... no idea why. Restaurant in the evening was extremely slow and the food was unappealing. Breakfast was more acceptable. More a spa resort... housed next door. Pleasant gardens, nice pool.

What do you mean by weird way of log in to wifi? Our wifi connection is only accessible with a Password. The passwords are provided every and each guests. The same procedure is following by all the hotels in Sri Lanka.
