The bathrooms are the only problem, there is no ac or ventilation so they are hot and wet all the time, it seems they are not cleaned enough and guests don’t clean up after themselves

If your deciding, go to kampong glam
First up it’s a typical capsule hotel. You arrive and climb many stairs so if u have heavy suitcases you are gonna feel it and stop the practice of travelling with such heavy luggage. I can travel for a month with 7-10kg cabin luggage! Try it and thank me later! One up the stairs stop kid way turn right and the reception counter is to your left if u had continued up the stairs ur going to rooms as there are some on that level plus the level you walked out on. On the floor we’re reception is there is a small kitchen and toilets and bathrooms. I stayed in the all female dorm which are located on that floor so you can check in via reception or they point you toward self check in located to your right side as you exit the stairs. You are given a room key that operates your entry door to the dorm area, your shoe locker, your room and a locker under your bed. The place was clean and nice. Beds are comfy. U get a small desk and power and usb ports in your little cubicle.
Now the differences and why I wouldn’t stay here again. The cubicles are smaller than kampong glam. Here only a Bed fits, at kampong glam there’s a small area to fit ur cabin luggage or shopping or whatever you like. The capsule itself is more spacious. Also at kampong glam outside the rooms is the bathrooms, all individual like ensuites that you can lock. But still in a private area so u can go in shirt and undies or pajamas. At Chinatown in order to go to the toilet or have a shower you need to ho back out to reception /small kitchen area to go to the toilet or have a shower, looking like your finest self first thing in the morning. Hair everywhere. Awkward. Biggest no from me!
Also I asked for a quiet bed, now no matter what, capsules can get noisy. People in and out doors and haven’t clearly been shown how to close doors quietly and being thoughtful of others and they let them Bang behind them. But of all the beds to give me I got the one right behind the door. The first bed! Ahh say what?? I booked quite some time before my arrival, maybe a month so it’s not like it was last minute! Clearly they do not read your requests and perhaps do not care?
The positive is I prefer Chinatown shopping and food. Would I stay again. No I’d stay at kampong glam and just catch the train a couple of stops.
