Cannon stay
The staff is wonderful!!!!
The location is good. There is a free ski bus just outside the house. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
Given the price situation in Norway the hotel is very affordable. You can say that about the food. We ate wagyu steak and cheesecake with lemon for 395 SEK. You won't find that cheaper in Sweden.

A typical ski hotel with carpeted floors
The rooms are quite normal with revamped bathrooms, but our room had a shower wall that had the habit of turning down towards the toilet. Working TV but wobbly wifi, unfortunately without password. The staff are good, but have to work hard. Breakfast is hearty and you can bake yourself a waffle, but it is easy for predatory bus tourists to empty dishes and yoghurt bowls. And that thing with scrambled eggs combined with pytt in the pan instead of bacon is not my style. Our accommodation included a 3-course dinner that was uneven but approved, but no culinary sensation.
The location is good for skiers near Geilo Alpine Center, but with a little more distance for those who want to see Geilo center – but who can take it after a long day?

Dirty room! Dirty rom!
We were going to visit family at Geilo and looked forward to a stay. Lunken reception in reception. All right. Come to the room where we were greeted by a dirty wall to wall carpet. Spots right inside the front door and first thought where is the stool? Then we found old lenses on the night table and dog feeds under the desk and the sofa bed as well as other dirt. So maybe the stains were stools after a dog? The lacquer was not large enough to cover the sofa bed which gave a nasty feeling. You do not want contact with the mattress. The carpet was visibly dirty with stains and bush and other stuff. Then you really do not get relaxed when the feeling is that the room is dirty and you prefer to go with flip flops. On the cleaning tralls there was only zalo and green soap. This was on the tralls both in 4 and 2, are this cleaning products used to wash the rooms?! Help! The bathroom is cleaned up, but there was hair in the extinguisher and there is put in a nice little garbage cans. There is no iron and ironing board in the room, then you have to go down in a bucket box to irrigate. After reading the reviews first now, we grieve for breakfast tomorrow when everyone has written bad comments. Neither on TripAdvisor nor on booking. Com seems someone in the management to respond to reviews, it means that no feedback seems to be followed up. This is a terrible sin! A hotel with a charming common area, history and location, but has obvious operating problems.

Generally good. Annoyed that I was told breakfast was from 0800 when two coach parties were allowed in before me!
With an early train to catch 0700 would have been more convenient for me. Information provided before I booked stated breakfast was served from 0730.
In front of hotel was a building site which spoilt the view somewhat !
Would consider using again as its near the station but a bit putt off by their taking coach parties.
