Really nice place!

Really nice place! From making the reservations, emailing with questions, to the actual place, it was a pleasure to stay here. The breakfast food was already in the unit when we got there. We did arrive late at night and the owners still greeted us when we arrived. It's in the country and you wake up to cows and quiet. We would've loved to have stayed longer. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A Lovely Place.

Walnut Lodge is a lovely, quant, peaceful place to stay. It is only a few minutes from downtown and from Hobbiton. Breakfast was brought to us the night we arrived with a selection of cereals, homemade bread, fruits, yogurt and juice. The host is very accommodating. We wished we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful accommodation, lovely host and perfect location.

Mia is a great host, this lovely modern studio style accommodation is situated on a beautiful property only minutes from the town of Matamata. We stayed here as we were visiting the Hobbiton Movie set tour just 10 minutes away. We were welcomed by Mia and her beautiful dog Hunter. The property is extremely clean, modern and beautifully decorated. Quiet, air con/heating. Mia provides breakfast the night before so we had cereal, fresh bread, preserves, fruit, yogurt,milk & orange juice plus home made cookies.
Bathroom has toiletries provided.
TV, dining table, microwave, tea coffee etc.

A perfect place for visiting Hobbiton and a beautiful spot to stay and explore.

Awesome BnB

What a wonderful peaceful spot for a BnB, rural but still close to main centre, we were fortunate to be able to bring our small dog too! Immaculate accommodation modern and very clean, all the comforts of home , double glazing, heat pump, comfy bed, including a delicious continental breakfast including home made bread by host Mia! We have stayed in a lot of five class motels but this has to top a lot of them, 100% recommend Walnut Lodge

Beautiful rural retreat

Our host Mia was so welcoming and provided us with a full continental breakfast at no extra cost. She also makes eyecatching jewellery and she invited us over to have a look at her selection which we could buy from for gifts or ourselves.
The 2 bedroom unit we were in was like new, with beautiful decor and rural/garden views out the windows.
The location though is not far out of town at all.
We were privileged also to watch two movies on Netflix that evening.
