Great value and great staff
This also reflected the whole service attitude of the entire staff which was very customer oriented.
The rooms are very nice and don't lack anything (fridge, large comfy bed, modern bathroom, etc). Very clean, spacious and well equipped. The terrace and the view from it was great. There is a small fitness center and playground for kids (not that we would have needed the latter).
We even got a full fried rice and curry breakfast for takeaway because we left very early in the morning.
It seems this guesthouse is very new and staff still completely unspoilt. I hope they stay the way they are. We really enjoyed our too short stay at HOME, which felt like at home!

Good design, poor cleanliness, 20 min from city center
Its 15/20 min from the airport, so if you only need to spend the night, you might consider it! BUT you can get better place for the same price!

Great stay, friendly staff.
Staff:
The staff we great and very friendly and helpful - I even think they got some cheese in for breakfast knowing my partner was french!
Room:
The room was very nice clean, modern and quiet for the price - the bathroom did have a small musky smell once wet - but not really a big issue. The wifi worked fine.
Location:
We had a few hours to kill before our ride so tried to get the limited sights listed within the lonely planet guide - we managed the mosque (not very exciting to be honest) and the market which was fun. Never made it to the harbour - taxi ride is quite long from the hotel - traffic being a big nightmare. But from the airport its very quick.
Breakfast:
Very typical indonesian breakfast - bread and cheese was mainly our option - the breakfast area wasn't the most pleasant - inside with no views.
But overall a really pleasant stay.

Clean and comfortable with free WIFI in room
When we went that time, there was a renovation going on so there are some dust outside of the room but it's OK for us. The staffs are all so friendly and helpful to assist us in any way they can. They speak basic English.
The only down-point is the location. It is not near to the city area. But if you wanna get around, the staff will call a taxi for you. It is a nice place to stay if you are just going to be in Surabaya for 1 day for interval.
