an overall enjoyable experience

excellent property, very nice staff, tasty food... accentuated by the time of the year... the only issue was hot water was not available in the bathing tap of the washroom... linen quality can also be improved... there is nice bit of history displayed through pics, artefacts...

MOST interesting place, heritage listed, but our room was pretty disgusting.

I'm flabbergasted at the four star reviews, which prompted me to write one.
The Fort is a MOST interesting place, heritage listed. The place is filled by the current Raj's personal inherited stuff- stuffed tigers, old camera's saddles, bric a brac, old photos and more. Several photos show a previous maharaja in his Roll's Royce. The village market outside the gates of the Fort bustling dirty and fun.
The current Raj inherited the place in 1927- its a time warp and all development and maintenance stopped at that time. Our room, up several flights of stairs was pretty DISGUSTING, the toilet area dirty and revolting, the bed and room smelt of cement dust, the dining table and serving mats un-wiped. The place is filthy, but interesting.
To give them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps the other rooms had been renovated, but ours certainly wasn't.
I wouldn't dream of staying there again, BUT it's a shame, the venue has HUGE potential, but would need massive upgrading and investment, tender love and care and customers.

Disappointed

The drive up to the Fort was stunning. It's such a beautiful building and has so much charisma and charm.
We didn't get to look around the gardens properly due to it getting dark. We had a walk to see the pool, which appeared a lovely area.
The interior of the hotel has lots of historical artefacts and is interesting to look around.
Our room was on the second floor and overlooked the front of the hotel.
The room itself was filthy & the beds were extremely uncomfortable.
The bathroom was horrendous, and there was a foul smell (not of sewerage). Two of our group refused to have a shower, and I kept my sliders on while showering.
Due to the un cleanliness of our bedroom & bathroom, we decided not to have any breakfast the following morning as we were put off.
We walked into the restaurant to tell them that we weren't going to eat and there was no staff around. I walked into what I believed was the kitchen & it was filthy.
There was nobody in the office to tell of our concerns. We came across 3 polite men who worked there who assisted us with our cases.
Maybe it was just our room.
The building has so much potential and needs some tlc

Forgettable experience !

Very run down property. If you go on Saturday evening there's vegetable bazaar and you just can't enter the fort. No marking no lighting in the fort. Keep guessing and looking for staff... will never find it. Dirty place. No fresh juice in morning breakfast.
Staff is good but due to recent takeover by another company service has deteriorated. Rooms on ground and first floor are ok. Never take rooms on 2floor - there was no fan in my room. On enquiry was told they forgot to install a fan OMG ! AC was tripping all the time. Overall very average stay - totally avoidable.

Fort UtchGaon relaxing place from Delhi with 2 hours of good connectivity for relaxing

The Fort Unchagaon is nice heritage property . The museum is the USP of the place where lot and lot of items you will be able to find and relate to old era. the food is excellent and the service is awesome. They treat you like your family member and very excited to share each story related to fort. The rooms are actually too big and we asked for small room as the heating system was not effective due to large size. The place is quite and very relaxing. If you go there ask for Mr Inder , who is staying in that place for last 30 years and have max info. The service boy Prince is good and Mr Atul is very flexible and ensure your happiness for each moment of stay.
A good place from Delhi with 2 hours of good connectivity for relaxing.
