perfect location

I recently spent 5 nights in this hotel due to a workshop that I was teaching in a nearby town. Important for me at time of booking was carpark, breakfast, free wifi and distance to my workshop - and in all those departments it delivered.
The Gasthof - Hotel Zum Löwen is easy to find and not far off the A73 Autobahn - about 8km from Lichtenfels and 3 or 4 from Bad Staffelstein (by the way both are lovely little towns). Car Parking is free and the carpark is large.
Reception is in the main house - fast check in - and friendly advise on local attractions.
The accommodation block is a separate building and has a lift (a bit slow... ) and stairs as well as the Spa complex - with small indoor pool, sauna, and other treatment rooms.
The Room was fairly large with a balcony and a small bathroom (shower only) and was very clean. As usual in any German hotels they have not a single bed (queen or King) but two beds that are stuck together with two separate duvets - not a problem but thought I mention it.
Sadly unlike in NZ or OZ or even the UK there are no coffee and tea making facilities (e.g. jug to boil water, cups etc) or small fridge in the room - for a longer stay and an early riser such as me that is where I take some of my praise back.. I would have loved to get up at 4 (yes I am that crazy) and have a cup of coffee or tea and then start some work on the computer or even go for a walk.. but breakfast (and coffee) did not start until 7am...
Speaking of meals - breakfast is a big affair - a very substantial buffet (on Monday's Salmon and Bubbly even) that covers any taste. It is self serve and that suited me just fine. But as mentioned before as a single traveler one has to kinda look for a place to sit as the tables are all reserved for double rooms or groups.. bit tricky.
Dinner - I had dinner twice and it was very tasty and contrary to a earlier review about the salad buffet not being fresh or nice - I loved it - truly loved it in particular the big antipasti platter. But also my Spaezle where very tasty. So not sure if the chef had a day off over Easter when that bad review was posted..
Overall though I am very happy to have stayed here and it was a good base for my many explorations of the region.

Quiet hotel in hills met

This hotel is romantic shelter for people. I was here in business trip, but I met some pairs. This is quiet, calm and comfortable accommodation. The bathroom small and clear.
The breakfast is tasty. Staff is kind and polite.

Trotz allem komme ich gerne hier her.
