Cute property right downtown in Beaufort, walking distance to everything in town. We were first time visitors to Beaufort and it is a charming and aesthetically awesome village and the the Beaufort Inn was a great spot to be for a couple nights!

Hotel canceled on us the day of our arrival

Well, we were SUPPOSED to stay at The Beaufort Inn for three nights. On the morning of our departure for the 6-hour drive to Beaufort, the hotel sent us a text message requesting that we call them. We did. Turns out they "overbooked," and don't have a room for us. We made the reservations 4 weeks earlier. We've stayed there before. We will not be staying there again.

We were greeted by Patricia and she was both welcoming and knowledgeable about the historic property. We had some cleanliness issues and Patricia moved us to a new room. We had to overlook some cleanliness issues with the bathtub in the second room and only used the shower. Housekeeping has such an important role and they need to better understand the impact they have on guests.

This hotel needs TLC

When booking this hotel, was encouraged by “the travelers choice award 2024” from Trip Advisor and location. This hotel is in dire need of upgrades, some are in progress. Upon arrival, our plan was to drop and go, we immediately had to contact the front desk to let them know our bathroom floor was”sticky”. This was taken care of before we returned. Got up next morning to take a shower and mold was evident in the shower and the room was in need of a good cleaning. No washcloths or hand towels were provided. Agree with other reviewers that bed was horribly uncomfortable, curtain hooks could not keep the drapes closed due to missing/broken rings, bedside table was scratched and the hotel parking was a muddy mess. That evening we returned to our room to find we received no housekeeping services and no towels. Went to the front office and they did have body and hand towels but no washcloths? We were ready to leave there but the manager was not available until the next day. Upon speaking to the manager we let them know we were checking out and wanted a refund for our final night so we could go elsewhere and get a good nights rest in a clean hotel. They provided a refund for half our stay which we agreed to. This is a great location and the front office staff were very kind and tried to help. Will not stay here in the future.

The stay was great. Only comment is that it was offered as breakfast included. Which isn’t true. Their is no restaurant on-site. We got a voucher for a nearby place which only covered a small portion of the bill.
