Friendliest Hotel in South Africa.
The swimming pools are a great place to enjoy the sunny February weather, every staff member is dedicated to their job and always give the best service to all guests which is why this special Hotel was awarded the Friendliest Hotel in South Africa last year.
The Hotels Olive Terrace Restaurant is the place to eat for meals any time of day and we have always had the best service and superb meals when eating here every day of our two week stay.
Tulbagh has a good Spar supermarket and selection of small shops and cafes and nearby Church Street has some of the finest Thatched properties in the country.
Manager Lianna does a fantastic job alongside her team of hard working staff who are always available to look after your every need.
The Tulbagh Valley has a good choice of Wineries where you can enjoy the tasting of some of the Western Capes best wines all within a few miles of the Tulbagh Hotel.
So if you want a relaxing comfortable great value Hotel in a very quiet part of the Tulbagh wine route then this is the place to be.
We now counting down the days to February 2026 when we will be back to The Friendliest Hotel in South Africa,The Tulbagh Boutique Heritage Hotel.

First of all, we do not even have jalapeno toppings for fries. We serve jalapeno poppers. You were intoxicated and insisted on a free take away cocktail when you discovered a fly in your cocktail that we have no control over. Your partner even apologised to us for your inappropriate behaviour. Your food did not take long and you did receive cutlery. In future please read our menu carefully. We are a 4-star hotel that caters for all guests, but are not able to attend to everyone’s culinary needs. We have a menu that has been carefully planned and we prepare our food according to our menu. It was very unpleasant serving you so please next time do not only think of yourself, but others around you.
Kind Regards,
Tulbagh Hotel Management
